No Medical Life Insurance - All of the Coverage with None of the Hassle
Life insurance is one of those things in life that people know they ought to invest in, but dread taking out because it can be such a hassle. Not only do you have to research the policies and collect quotes, but even after you make a decision, you have to undergo a tedious and uncomfortable medical exam in order for the insurance company to be satisfied that you're not an undue risk to insure. Many people are so put off by this process that the delay getting life insurance indefinitely. But a word to the wise: you can now get no medical life insurance; life insurance without having to take a medical exam first.
The reason that insurance companies require you to take a medical exam before they agree to insure you is that they want to make sure that you're as healthy as you say you are. If you're not in good health, then there's a greater risk that you will die and they will have to pay out your death benefit. But many companies are now foregoing the medical exam and allowing you to simply fill out a medical evaluation to determine the state of your health. Then, if your evaluation is satisfactory, they will offer you no medical life insurance.
However, the premiums for no medical life insurance are higher than the premiums on life insurance for which you have undergone a physical exam. This is because the insurance company is essentially taking your word for the state of your health instead of having that confirmed by an outside source. In doing so, they are exposing themselves to a greater risk that you may have some undiagnosed medical condition that they might have been able to catch during a physical medical exam. But it's up to you to decide whether or not it's worth paying a high premium to avoid the hassle of the medical exam.
When you fill out the medical questionnaire, make sure to be as accurate as possible. The more accurate you are, the better off you'll be in the long run. If you present the insurance company with any misleading or erroneous information, this could lead to a suspension of your benefits, or even a denial of your benefits. If the company can prove that you deliberately lied on the questionnaire, than you may even face criminal charges of insurance fraud. So fill out the form honestly and you'll find yourself the proud policyholder of no medical life insurance in no time.
